Recognising and acknowledging one's inclinations; a distinction is made between personal/internal (towards oneself) and social/external (towards society, friends and family) coming out.
Coming out describes the process in which a person becomes aware of his or her own gender and/or sexual orientation (inner coming out) and begins to talk about it with others (outer coming out). Especially the outer coming out is a life-long process. | |
